I Got an Interview

Hi Everyone

So the strangest thing happened in my search for work.

As I said in a previous post all I've been getting is calls about finance and credit control roles which is what I'm trying to get out of.

So I got a call from a recruitment firm asking about this great role in credit control for good money etc but I had to say no. I explained to the guy I'm looking to get out of finance and go into the world of estate agency. Ironically the guy said to me he used to be in that world and it wasn't too great, but had I thought about recruitment?

I was taken aback by this question as it never really popped into my head to become a recruiter but as I know from experience they get great commission by getting people job roles I though **HMMMMM MAYBE?!?!?**

The guy was really nice and told me that in his company a colleague in another division was looking for a new recruitment consultant and would I consider it? I said "sure why not". He explained how my background in finance would help as that's what they mainly deal with and it basically like an estate agent except your selling a job not a house. Also him mentioning not working weekends was a bonus :P

So I went for it. I asked for a job description and organised a time where I could escape work and go for the interview.

Now that's the tricky part, getting out of work. So I went for the old classic.....I have a doctors appointment. I made up that I needed to get my blood pressure taken for my pill and they bought it. I even gave myself extra time to get changed out of my uniform, apply make-up and prepare.

So what did I wear?

I feel for an interview you need to look smart but not boring and I think I achieved it with this outfit

Now everything I wore is not in the shops anymore but I'll give links to similar products or the relevant website.

I'm wearing a pair of black smart trousers from ASDA, very cheap at around £6

A coral under top from H&M, but any colour under top would go nice with this

A sheer white flowy vest top from Vero Moda (I bought this in Ireland a couple of years ago)

Black Waterfall Blazer from Miss Selfridge, but I found something similar from New Look

And on my feet a pair of simple black heels, but my feet have since shrunk so I had to tense my toes to keep them on :P I found something similar from H&M

For accessories I kept it simple and Gold

A couple of gold band rings from H&M and a cross over midi ring from River Island. The nail varnish I'm wearing is Peaches and Cream by Tanya Burr

A origami swan long line necklace also H&M, I got this 2 years ago but I think this one from Boohoo would go perfectly

Finally my ASOS watch I got from Toby for my birthday

So, the interview...... I feel it went really well. The office seems young and full of fun compared to me being the youngest by at least 15 years in the company I work for at the moment. It's got great commission if I work hard enough (which I will for money). The guy who could be my potential boss seemed really nice and responded well to my answers to his questions. I guess it's now just a waiting game to see if I get it.

But just in case I don't I've been applying for lots of other jobs. I can't put all my hopes into this one interview (even though I secretly have), you need to keep applying until you get a firm YES!

So wish me luck with this, and if I don't get it then so be it. I'll dust myself off and keep trying

MYBS xxxx
